Welcome to the website of the University of Szeged, Faculty of Agriculture!
Our website was designed to provide a comprehensive picture about our educational supply, requirements, academic activities, international relationships as well as our organizational and operational system. Since the foundation of the predecessor institution in 1961, the University of Szeged, Faculty of Agriculture has been committed to ensure high-quality agricultural higher education and to provide students with a competitive and recognized qualification. Our dedicated staff, practical and innovative training and strong international relationships all contribute to a wide palette of training. Our current educational supply includes bachelor courses, undergraduate diploma courses and professional further training.
On bachelor level - within the framework of a three-and-a-half-year training - we provide learning possibilities on two courses: Agricultural engineer (in Hungarian and English language as well) and Wildlife management. We also plan the accreditation of the Environmental Management Agricultural Engineering BSc Course and the Agricultural Engineering Master's Degree Course. Our students when finishing the four kinds of engineer assistant undergraduate diploma courses are able to find a job immediately or they can study further on BSc courses. As for the professional further training courses, we usually advertise and start the ones that are most demanded by the students.
Our research, tailored to the various fields of agricultural sciences, is carried out within institutional framework and it is designed to achieve new scientific results, and share them with the scientific community. However it is equally important for us that our research results will help businesses and farmers directly through the advisory activities. Our science and innovation results are published in a journal of our own, and also in other publications to ensure that the most up-to-date scientific information is always available for the students and the professional public.
The Faculty of Agriculture Hódmezővásárhely has strong connections with the other eleven faculties of the University. This is not only professional and scientific work; it offers the diversity of intellectual-shaping impact and a colourful student life.
The farmers of Vásárhely are proud of their local traditions of student life dating back more than half a century and the spiritual heritage of the institution.
I hope that you will be part of all this; see you in Hódmezövásárhely!
